Caffeine Headaches

For the past two years I have been drinking mostly water. We haven't bought a 12 pack of soda in about the same amount of time. My husband really helped me by choosing not to buy 12 packs of coke every month for the house. Instead he will buy one at work or on his way into work. When I visit other peoples home I typically just have water and Mark typically has a soda. We made it work for the both of us. He didn't want to give them up but I was having a hard time not drinking them when they were in the house. Have you ever had asked someone to change or give up something to benefit you along your journey?

Starting a few weeks before Christmas I really slipped up on my drink of choice. Instead of mostly drinking water I had anything but. Mark was buying me Monsters and when out shopping I was having soda. Not to mention the coffee I was drinking on a daily basis. For the past three days I have had a really bad headache. I am not sure if it is from having hardly any caffeine to having mostly caffeine and then back to having none. The headaches started the same time I stopped having caffeine daily. Yesterday it was actually not near as bad. Taking a pain reliever never helped. A caffeine headache is my guess.

I am back to having water daily with the occasional caffeinated drink. My rule before and still is, to have no more than one caffeinated drink a day. Since you started have you cut out caffeine? If so, how well have you stuck to it? Was it hard for you?

  1. I detoxed from sugar the same way. From about Halloween until new years I consumed so much candy, cookies and sugary foods that the day I stopped I immediately got a migraine. I had a headache for a few days but it did wear off once my body got used to normal eating. I dont drink caffeine really. I have 2 cups of tea a day (sometimes just one). I do drink diet soda but its only at work and only one. But there are days I go without diet soda.
